Meridian Council Foreign Policy Salon: The Evolution of U.S. Strategy in the Middle East

On January 18, 2024, Meridian International Center hosted a Foreign Policy Salon discussing the evolution of the U.S. strategy in the Middle East. These curated salon receptions and dinners are designed to spark thoughtful dialogue among different perspectives and promote the exchange of ideas over a shared meal. This event’s conversation featured Ambassador Stuart Holliday and Ambassador Thomas Nides.

Ambassador Holliday and Ambassador Nides discussed different approaches the U.S. could take toward international security strategies in the Middle East by addressing the current conflict and events in the region in the past decade. Ambassador Nides’ unique perspective as U.S. Ambassador to Israel from 2021 to 2023 allowed for wide-ranging dialogue on the role the U.S. does and should play in Middle East diplomacy.
