Juan Penagos finished his associate in business management in spring 2023. He is pursuing a degree in Business and Global Affairs to serve in international institutions like World Bank. Besides his academic goals, Juan has always participated in his community first as a junior council in Funza, Colombia; later being part of the Hillsborough Community College board of trustees. In the latter, he represent the college in the National Student Trustee Committee at ACCT (Association of Community College Trustees), and in different conferences like the FCHC (Florida Collegiate Honors Council). He has advocated for the community college education in the regional, state, and federal level, while also advocating for the Latino community. Juan's final goal is to be able to help communities to progress throughout the international bank system funding projects that really impact those community. He also want to come back to serve at the HCC board of trustees in the future to continue helping the development of Tampa's development.
