IVLP Impact Award Project: Empowering Refugee Children

The project successfully supported several children from refugee and asylum-seeking families in Armenia. 42 refugee children participated in over 40 “Fun Days” consisting of recreational activities, entertainment, and homework support, providing a positive and safe environment for their learning and development. Through 2 two-day training sessions, 40 parents were equipped to better navigate the challenges of raising children in a new country. Training sessions shared knowledge on topics such as child rights, Armenia’s Child Protection System, and practical positive parenting behaviors. Hasmik’s project fostered a more harmonious and supportive environment within displaced communities in Armenia by improving children’s wellbeing and providing parental training and support. The project provided access to education, ensuring fun, communication and leisure time for children in difficult life situations, which will continue to serve as a basis for smooth integration in the new environment.
