Hanan Coronado

B.A. in Anthropology & Political Science Candidate @ Pasadena City College

Hanan Coronado is an incoming junior at the University of California, Berkeley, majoring in cultural anthropology and minoring in public policy. Before transferring to UC Berkeley, she was a student at Pasadena City College where she was Vice President of Academic Affairs of her student government. Her interest in international affairs stems from her multicultural background which has been heavily influenced by her parents' immigrant stories and her personal relationship with being a first-generation American. She is especially passionate about global human rights issues and how policy can be used to protect vulnerable communities. As a result, she has interned for the House of Representatives, where she learned about the legislative process and how it applies to foreign affairs. Hanan aspires to work in international affairs, hoping to focus on Latin American, Middle Eastern, and Women's rights issues, which have all shaped her identity and career pursuits.
