IVLP Impact Award Project: Express - Course on Entrepreneurship

The project was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, and focused on training local university students who were interested in entrepreneurship, commerce and business. Four Tajik universities took part in the project, and the workshops helped participants stay up to date with the current requirements of the global labor market and be competitive. Participants were also able to update and expand their knowledge, and mastering the skills of project implementation in practice will help graduates of the program become successful in the job market.

There were a total of 160 attendees, and 80 of the most motivated students, based on an assessment given at the training, formed the cohort for the final stage of the project. These 80 students participated in an intensive two-day training that equipped them with theoretical and practical knowledge about entrepreneurship. They were also provided connections for local resources and support for future ventures.

All 80 students reported that they plan to continue pursuing their proposed entrepreneurial ventures, and some students have begun organizing tours based on their new knowledge of the tourism sector in Tajikistan. Social media posts about the project also reached more than 6,700 viewers.

Farrukh also shared insights on the Impact Award grant process as a panelist for the IVLP Impact Awards Alumni Discussion Series panel, “Alumni Spotlight” which you can read more about here.
