Many students in disadvantaged schools lack an adequate classroom, laboratory, library or scientific teaching equipment. In addition, managing COVID-19 in these schools is difficult because of the lack of means. This project empowered 2,117 students through science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities across 5 partner schools. It provided science teaching kits for schools to start science clubs that will help teach science lessons and help students see their scientific gifting. This project also funded a science festival which brought together multiple science clubs and awarded the best female science teacher. Throughout the project, students gained a further desire to become scientists and a scientific foundation, SGMT TOGO, reached out with interest in expanding this program to their region.
Dodzi was a participant in the IVLP Project Empowering Youth through Workforce Development & Alumni, organized by the U.S. Department of State and FHI 360.
