Andrew Nissen also joins the IVLP Team as a Program Officer with decades of experience as a U.S. Foreign Service Officer.  He has had domestic assignments in the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, Bureau of Energy Resources, Bureau of Oceans, Environment and Science and the Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs.  His overseas assignments have included the U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong; the American Institute of Taiwan; the U.S. Consulate in Surabaya, Indonesia and Chennai, India. During the course of his career, Andrew has had the chance to nominate IVLP participants and meet with IVLP groups.
