Meridian International Center Welcomes 6 New Members to the Board of Trustees

Washington D.C. – Meridian International Center is pleased to welcome David Barrosse, Founder and CEO of Capstone LLC; Tim Hwang, Chairman, CEO, & Co-founder of FiscalNote; DeDe Lea, Executive Vice President, Global Public Policy and Government Relations, Paramount; Deborah Lehr, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of the Paulson Institute; The Honorable Francisco Sanchez, Partner, Holland & Knight, and the U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for Trade (2009-2013); and Sue Hostetler Wrigley, Founder, Hostetler Wrigley, to its Board of Trustees.

“It is a great honor to become a Board Member for the Meridian International Center and to be amongst such esteemed colleagues, leaders, and visionaries in the arena of diplomacy and international relations,” shared Hwang. “At FiscalNote, we understand the need for timely global insights in an ever-changing and complex world, and the importance of information sharing and discovery to yield greater understanding across borders and cultures. I look forward to participating in the mission of Meridian and engaging in impactful dialogue and activities during my term.”

The announcement comes in tandem with several new appointments for existing Meridian Trustees:

  • Fred Humphries will serve as the Co-Chair of the Development Committee.
  • Soledad Hurst will serve as the Chair of the Governance and Nominating Committee.
  • Megan Beyer will serve as the Board Secretary.
  • The Honorable Fred Hochberg will serve as the Vice Chair to the Board.

Meridian is grateful for the time and support from the three Meridian Trustees rolling off the board: The Honorable Randi Levine, Ambassador of the U.S. to Portugal; The Honorable Israel Hernandez, Head of Public Affairs, Latin America, SoftBank Group International; and Celeste Mellet Brown, Chief Financial Officer, Evercore.

Meridian’s Board of Trustees is currently composed of 27 high-level individuals who bring vast expertise and experience from many sectors, including business, government, nonprofit, media, healthcare, technology, the arts, law, and real estate. The Board plays a critical role in Meridian’s governance, and provides strategic guidance for the operations, business, property, and other affairs related to Meridian’s sustainable growth. Trustees also provide ongoing counsel and oversight through 6 Board Committees: Executive, Governance and Nominating, Global Engagement, Development, Facilities and Preservation, and Finance and Audit.
