A Breeze from the Gardens of Persia: New Art from Iran

Meridian International Center partnered with the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and The Search for Common Ground to present A Breeze from the Gardens of Persia featuring 54 of Iran’s finest artists. The exhibition included a stunning collection of oils, watercolors, drawings, miniature paintings, and calligraphy that showed the influence of Persian culture and poetry on contemporary art in Iran. Works were selected in collaboration with curators from the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the Tehran Arts University.

A Breeze from the Gardens of Persia is a fine arts cultural exchange initiative that was part of Former Iranian President Khatemi's Dialogue of Civilizations. The exhibition traveled throughout both the United States and Iran and included artist exchanges. Support for the exhibition came from the Exxon Mobil Corporation, The Boeing Company, DiamlerChrysler AG, and the Starr Foundation.
