The mission of the Center for International Development (CID)  is to leverage the skills, expertise and creativity of Ball State University and partners to promote social, educational, political, and economic advancement worldwide, particularly in less developed countries. CID has managed over $13 million in grants and contracts from sponsors including the U.S. Department of State, the World Bank, the United States Agency for International Development, and the Asian Development Bank. Ball State’s area of expertise focuses on youth unemployment, entrepreneurship, higher education, English language training, journalism and telecommunications, career services, and rule of law. CID’s international capacity building encompasses youth and visitor exchanges, university partnerships, and professional consultancy.  Ball State is located in Muncie, Indiana, a community of over 70,000 residents.
