The Business and Entrepreneurship Exchange Program with Zambia and Zimbabwe

The 2014 U.S. Business and Entrepreneurship Exchange Program aims to strengthen the visiting participants’ understanding of American business practices, entrepreneurship, culture, and values, while also building their professional networks and project development skills so they are better able to bring about positive change in their home countries. In addition, the program will provide the American participants with an opportunity to share methodologies and best practices with a wider audience in Zambia and Zimbabwe while also expanding their own understanding of Zambian and Zimbabwean culture, values, and society.
Participants from Zambia and Zimbabwe will be selected through an open competition process to visit the U.S. in separate cohorts in May and November of 2014. American mentors will then be chosen to go abroad in one cohort in early 2015. American host institutions will be selected from the economic empowerment and entrepreneurship sector and matched with the visiting participants’ interests, professional goals, and experience. The host institutions in Zambia and Zimbabwe will be associated with the Zambian and Zimbabwean participants and will also include additional visits to institutions for speeches and workshops.
