Global Business@Meridian Downtown: Turkey

His Excellency Namik Tan, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey and his senior commercial counselor Mr. Onur Bülbül and counselor Mr. Mehmet Akif İnam joined the Meridian Corporate Council at the Capital Hilton for the sixth installment of the Global Business @ Meridian Downtown series. Corporate Council host Mr. Paul Brown, President of Brands and Commercial Services for Hilton Worldwide, offered remarks on the strong business ties Hilton shares with Turkey and the country’s unique role in the hotel chain’s history, with the first Hilton hotel outside Europe founded in Istanbul following the end of World War II. Ambassador Tan presented a broad overview of Turkey as a leading power in bridging Asia Pacific and Europe. In particular, he paid tribute to the country’s democratic, parliamentarian system, employment opportunities, growth in tourism, and recent strides in energy development as integral components of the country’s strong, free-market economy. In addition, guests shared about their positions and positive experiences with Turkey through business partnerships, investment opportunities, and personal visits.
