Egyptian Children’s Educational Programming

With the sponsorship of the U.S. Dept. of State's US Embassy in Cairo, six talented Egyptians dedicated to children-based literature, illustration, TV programs and animation convened in the United States for 12 days to study the United States’ experience in children’s educational programming tools: magazines, books, TV shows, illustrations and animation. In addition to a program kick-off and city tour in Washington, DC, participants also travelled to New York, NY; Columbus, OH; and Los Angeles, CA. The program was a great opportunity for the Egyptians and the Americans to exchange ideas on children's educational programing.

The six Egyptian children’s writers, illustrators, and TV producers also had the opportunity to meet with publishers of “Highlights for Children,” a children’s magazine often referred to as “Highlights”.
