In partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Brazília, Meridian implemented a program for 20 Brazilian higher education administrators to learn about how American universities and institutions administer and support study abroad programs. The program's goal was to support the objectives of 100,000 Strong in the Americas, namely increasing the number of American students studying in Brazil, by helping Brazilian institutions to create better study abroad infrastructure. More details about the program's goals and objectives are listed below:

Goals and Objectives

  • Create partnership opportunities with US institutions and universities (study abroad, research fellowships, etc.)
  • Provide an introduction to the resources and support given to American students when studying abroad
  • Increase understanding of the infrastructure provided by US universities to international students such as; housing, student advising, orientations, health systems, etc.
  • Enhance understanding of current partnerships between US universities and Brazilian institutions
