She is very passionate about raising awareness on cybersecurity topics, especially with seniors and children who are one of the most vulnerable generations to cybersecurity incidents.
Through 12 workshops held in five Croatian cities, Vlatka’s project educated 384 people on current cybersecurity challenges and the safety of children online. Workshop topics included the history of hacking, social engineering, cybersecurity threats on social media, and cyber hygiene. Experts from leading Croatian education and cybersecurity agencies convened at the project’s final event, with 48 attendees, to discuss topics such as cyberbullying and online abuse; and to encourage youth to pursue careers in cybersecurity. The project has already had a lasting impact on the community because it is increasing cybersecurity awareness amongst the engaged participants.
