Virginia Shore

Virginia Shore is a curator, director and advisor, with extensive expertise in contemporary art in all media. She is currently collaborating with the Hall Group, the Fredriksen Family Collection, the Obama Foundation, and the Office of James Burnett on public and private art projects.

Ms. Shore has curated more than 200 international exhibitions for public and private collections, and overseen dozens of site-specific commissions. She has established relationships with hundreds of artists, architects, curators, foundations, dealers, collectors, and institutions around the world.

Formerly, Chief Curator and Acting Director of the Office of Art in Embassies. She established and led the first art acquisitions program for the U.S. Department of State worldwide. Between 2005-2017, she oversaw the commissioning of 79 permanent art collections and curated over 52 of these new collections for embassies and consulates globally. She successfully expanded the Department mission to include international artists from the host countries for all facilities.
