The Honorable Stuart Bernstein

For over fifty years, Stuart Bernstein has been a recognized leader in real estate development, investment and management primarily in the Washington, DC area. He was appointed by President George W. Bush to represent the United States as Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark, a diplomatic role he held with distinction from 2001 to 2005.

Stuart is a graduate of American University and was a longtime member of the University’s Board of Trustees. A humanitarian and cultural leader, he was appointed by President George H.W. Bush as a Commissioner of the International Cultural and Trade Center and as a Trustee of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Currently he serves on the Board of Directors of the Council of American Ambassadors and the Diplomacy Center Foundation. He is a member of the Council of the Woodrow Wilson Center, the International Council of CSIS, and a Society of Fellows member of the Aspen Institute.
