Senator John Barrasso has a long and distinguished career in both medicine and public service. In 2012, Barrasso was reelected to the U.S. Senate with over 75% of the vote to represent his home state of Wyoming.

Barrasso is the fourth-ranking member among the Senate Republican leadership as Chairman of the Senate Republican Policy Committee (RPC). As RPC chairman, Barrasso helps develop legislative and floor strategy, and provides his colleagues with in-depth analysis on policy issues.

In addition to serving on the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Barrasso is a senior member of the Senate Energy Committee where he is a steadfast advocate for American energy security and freedom.

Barrasso is known by many as Wyoming’s Doctor. During his 24 years as an orthopedic surgeon, Barrasso served as President of the Wyoming Medical Society and was named Wyoming Physician of the Year.

John has three children – Peter, Emma and Hadley. He and his wife Bobbi live in Casper.
