IVLP Impact Award Project: Radio Program on Trafficking in Persons in Guinea-Bissau

This project aimed to accomplish two main goals: first, to raise awareness among the population of what Trafficking in Persons is and how they can identify a victim; and second, to encourage greater accountability, including encouraging the government to charge and prosecute parties engaging in Trafficking in Persons in Guinea-Bissau. To accomplish these goals, a radio program with 25 episodes was produced to discuss these issues. Speakers were also invited onto the radio program to encourage interaction from program listeners. The project informed the public about trafficking in persons and also created a partnership with the Judiciary police to add an emergency number for cases of trafficking in persons.

IVLP Exchange Experience

Lilian was a participant in the IVLP Project Trafficking in Persons, organized by the U.S. Department of State and the Institute of International Education.

Lilian's exchange experience led to the development of her IVLP Impact Award Project: "My IVLP experience was door opening to new professional opportunities and improving my knowledge on Trafficking in Persons."
