Glenn Helme

Associate Program Officer @ Meridian

Glenn Helme serves as an Associate Program Officer for Meridian International Center's GlobalConnect Division. He first joined the GlobalConnect team in the summer of 2016, and has since worked with the Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) and Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI) Professional Fellows Program for the U.S. Department of State and worked on exchange programs for various U.S. Embassies, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency, and private organizations. Prior to joining Meridian, Glenn held two internships at the U.S. Department of State, supporting the 100,000 Strong in the Americas Initiative, a presidential initiative aimed at increasing study abroad between the United States and other countries in the Americas.

Glenn earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, concentration in Latin America and minor in Spanish Language, from the American University School of International Service. During his time at AU, Glenn spent a semester abroad in Santiago, Chile, where he studied at Universidad Diego Portales and served as an intern for Youth For Understanding: Chile, a study abroad organization for high school students. He served as Under Secretary General of the Washington International Relations Conference, the annual high school Model United Nations conference held at AU, and as Publicity Coordinator for the Kennedy Political Union, the non-partisan, student-run lecture series on campus. Glenn is fluent in Spanish.
