Esiona Konomi has 10 years of experience working as a reporter covering various political issues in Albania. Esiona has chronicled some of Albania's most significant developments over the past decade including Albania's steps toward membership in the European Union. Throughout her career, Esiona has also championed transparency and accountability of those in power through initiatives with other journalists.
Esiona used techniques learned through her IVLP project to teach students how to identify fake news and misinformation. The project equipped students with tips and tricks used to identify dubious information. Identify the Lie reached 10 partner high schools and universities, engaging 20-30 students from each high school and 50 from each university. Through lectures, podcasts, booklets and talks with media experts, the project helped raise awareness related to fact finding and information analysis for hundreds of students.
