Chris Leahy

A battle-tested and mission-focused advocate with extensive C-suite experience in the energy, transportation, life sciences, and technology sectors. Chris has led the government relations and corporate affairs functions for major multinational corporations, including Intuit, where he was Chief Policy Officer and Vice President of Global Corporate Affairs; Bayer, where he was Vice President and Head of Government Relations and Policy; and Peabody Energy, where he was Vice President of Federal Government Relations. He also has advised and represented the global auto giant Volkswagen Group AG, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce (BDI-DIHT), and the energy and defense services company McDermott, Babcock & Wilcox.

Chris’ former role as Policy Coordinator and Counsel on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, coupled with his private-sector experience, have given him deep knowledge of the process of making and implementing policy, legislative-regulatory-executive-branch dynamics, and how to be a valued advocate for clients.

Chris’ work in international business diplomacy has included E.U. and German-U.S. government and economic relations, involving some of the largest transatlantic business deals in history.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctorate from the American University, Washington College of Law. He is a member of the bars of Washington D.C. and Virginia.

Chris serves on several charitable and professional boards, including the boards of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Meridian Center, The Bryce Harlow Foundation, and The Congressional Award (the only charity of the U.S. Congress). He is Vice Chairman of the board of directors of The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Chris also is a member of the Economic Club of Washington DC,  The Carlton Club, and The Business-Government Relations Council. He has been honored annually since 2016 as a “Top Corporate Lobbyist” by The Hill newspaper.

Originally from Washington, D.C., Chris grew up in Northern Virginia, where he resides with his wife and their two children.
