Amanda Deatherage Kalyan joined Meridian as Director of Corporate Relations in March 2022.  Before joining Meridian, Ms. Kalyan was the Federal and State Government Affairs Lead for UL, LLC.  Prior to UL, she was the Senior Trade Policy Advisor for the British Embassy in Washington, D.C. In that capacity, she led a team of seven policy advisors tasked with building support and influence for the post-Brexit trade relationship between the UK and the US. In 2014, Ms. Kalyan was the Public Affairs Manager for the Cruise Lines International Association where she managed and advocated on the legislative and regulatory issues of the industry.

Ms. Kalyan was also the Director of Strategic Alliances at DCI Group where she created, maintained and cultivated relationships with third party groups and stakeholders on a wide range of policy issues on behalf of major Fortune 500 clients.  Prior to DCI Group, she was the Director for International Advisory Services Group where she led efforts to increase grassroots, business, and government awareness of the inadequacies of the current tax system on international competitiveness.  In 2006, Ms. Kalyan served as a trade law and lobbying expert for a USAID trade capacity building mission in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Ms. Kalyan is a 2004 graduate of South Texas College of Law and served as Editor-in-Chief of Currents, International Trade Law Journal.  She earned her B.A., cum laude, from Lynchburg College in 1996.  Ms. Kalyan resides in Washington, D.C.
