Alexandra Hernandez-Pardo

Associate, Corporate Relations @ Meridian

Alexandra Hernandez-Pardo is the Corporate Relations Associate at the Meridian International Center. Prior to joining the team, she spent two years working in Corporate & Foundation Relations at the University of Iowa, connecting faculty and students with funding, partnership, and engagement opportunities. From 2019 to 2021 she also led the Iowa City Foreign Relations Council, a membership-based organization which seeks to promote dialogue and understanding of international issues by hosting forums with speakers from around the world. As Executive Director, Alexandra transformed the organization’s digital presence, redesigned the internship program, and developed communications, fundraising, and outreach teams to increase visibility and resources for the organization.

Alexandra’s interest in international cultures and affairs began in her youth, speaking Spanish at home and moving between San Francisco, Paris, and Granada. She graduated from the University of Iowa in May 2019 with a double major in International Relations and French, with a minor in Arabic. On campus, Alex worked with student organizations to raise advocacy and funds for international issues like childhood vaccines in developing countries and populations affected by the global water crisis. As a student, she worked three successive summers as an Assistant in the Consular Department, Front Office, and Cultural Heritage Section respectively at the US Embassy in Paris. She has studied in Fez, Morocco, to learn Arabic and in Lyon, France, where she studied French.
