Waseda University invited The University of Chicago’s baseball team to Japan in 1910. During their visit, the American students played against Waseda and Keio University, as well as visited the Ginza shopping district and the Great Buddha in Kamakura. Every five years until 1936, The University of Chicago and Waseda University alternated hosting one another and shared a great deal in common – dedication to the sport, respect for one another, and the same uniform colors.
