About the Meridian Global Leadership Summit and the 45th Annual Meridian Ball

The Global Leadership Summit is part of the Meridian-Gallup Global Leadership Series, which takes place each spring and fall to examine the state of global leadership at both the global and national levels, and discuss the factors driving public opinion of U.S. leadership in more than 160 countries. The spring event, the U.S.-Global Leadership Project, was held on March 13, 2013, and examined opinions of U.S. leadership in more than 130 countries. At October’s Global Leadership Summit, top corporate leaders, policy makers, members of the diplomatic corps, and senior government officials will explore how critical issues of the day, including political, social, and economic issues, affect people’s perceptions of leaders around the world. The day’s discussions will focus on collaborative solutions to complex global problems.

The networking and discussions at the Global Leadership Summit will culminate at the 45th Annual Meridian Ball on the evening of October 18th. Regarded throughout Washington as a “must-attend” event for high-level networking and relationship-building, the Meridian Ball is attended by prominent international figures in politics, business, the diplomatic corps, and the media. The Ball begins with Ambassador-hosted dinners at embassies and residences around Washington, followed by dessert and entertainment at Meridian House, a national historic site and venue.
