Meridian Congratulates Her Excellency Federica Mogherini, the European Union’s New Foreign Policy Chief
Meridian International Center is pleased to congratulate Her Excellency Federica Mogherini as the European Union’s new Foreign Policy Chief. Meridian had the honor of hosting Minister Mogherini, who in February 2014 became the youngest foreign minister of Italy, for an off-the record policy discussion in May 2014. Accompanied by His Excellency Claudio Bisogniero, Ambassador of Italy to the U.S. and Ambassador Sandro De Bernardin, the Director General for Political Affairs and Security with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Mogherini covered a number of recent developments in the European Union, including the NATO and EU responses to the crisis in Ukraine, and the resulting energy and security issues. Meridian looks forward to the opportunity to partner with Minister Mogehrini and the European Union in bringing together world leaders for further dialogue and collaboration on key issues which impact the peace, stability and prosperity of both the U.S. and the European Union
