 Summary of Position:

As a key member of the External Affairs team, this person will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administration of a Salesforce implementation with several applications, across different programs and units. This person serves as the primary technical expert, developer, and user facilitator for Meridian’s Salesforce NPSP system. Duties also include internal user management, incident response, org security, data integrity, data migration, change and release management, reporting, production support, and other duties. The candidate must have a proven record of positive collaboration with others, especially stakeholders, developers, business analysts, and project managers.

This position is located in Washington D.C. and Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. The position may work partially remotely until further notice. Effective January 4, 2022, all Meridian staff are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless a reasonable medical or religious accommodation is approved.

 Position Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen the culture of data management and technology implementation through training, best practices, regular updates, and suggestions for improvement.
  • Develop proper protocols to ensure user access, data security and integrity, and smooth implementation of Salesforce releases and feature changes.
  • Serve as primary systems administrator for the Salesforce NPSP database platform and manage administrative functions including user maintenance, workflows, reports, dashboards, and data uploads.
  • Collaborate with team members to investigate and resolve production issues.
  • Serve as project manager for reconfigurations, migrations, or other major Salesforce transitions.
  • Manage and install third party AppExchange applications, including optimal integration and training in best use for users.
  • Support one or more teams in all phases of the development lifecycle, including participation in requirements sessions, planning sessions, development support, and release management.
  • Functional knowledge of Salesforce.com data structure and understanding of how to leverage the tool to meet complex process and reporting requirements.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of third-party applications.
  • Analyze functional and technical requirements; engineer technical solutions integrating web technologies, databases, and third-party apps.
  • Lead mitigation activities on critical and high-risk issues escalated by project teams.
  • Stay current on Salesforce ecosystem and related technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in related field.
  • Salesforce Advanced Admin certification.
  • 5-7+ years of increasing responsibility and experience as a Salesforce Administrator with mid to senior-level development experience.
  • Lightning Components, Process Builders, Flows: 5 years (Preferred)
  • 2+ years leading technical Salesforce (or other CRM solutions) implementations.
  • Highly proficient with Salesforce Lightning and NPSP.
  • Or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

Technical Requirements:

Proficiency in the following software programs is necessary for this role:

  • Third party applications like Pardot, Linvio, iWave, and Payment connectors like Authorize.net
  • Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Salesforce NPSP

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Hands-on experience with all types of SFDC admin tasks.
  • Proficient with data export and import and use of Microsoft Excel to facilitate uploads and data transformations, and with data maintenance tools such as Data Loader or Apsona.
  • Development and maintenance of custom objects within Salesforce.
  • Experience with product design, integrated testing, migrations, and implementation/release processes.
  • Experience or knowledge of creating custom reports and dashboards within Salesforce platform.
  • Demonstrated experience with not-for-profit organizations' Salesforce requirements.
  • Demonstrated team player with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong inter-cultural communication skills; maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world.
