Summary of Position:

The Manager, Information Resources serves as the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) Team’s main contact for both ongoing and time-sensitive technology and resource needs. The position represents Meridian to external stakeholders on IVLP technology and database issues and supports staff adoption of new policies in these areas. The Manager also serves as a resource to Meridian’s Communications team and maintains IVLP-related information on the Meridian website.

This position is located in Washington D.C. and Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. The position may work partially remotely until further notice. Effective October 1, 2021, all Meridian staff engaged in on-campus or in-person Meridian activities are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless a reasonable medical or religious accommodation is approved.

Position Responsibilities:

Information Technology Operations

  • Serves as IVLP Team liaison to Meridian’s IT division and Tech Team.
  • Monitors Meridian’s information technology updates, identifies potential effects on IVLP workflow and helps staff adapt to new processes and protocols.
  • Trains staff on the use of technology platforms and electronic resources.
  • Assesses current team needs and works with IT to acquire and manage inventory of IT equipment.

Data and Resource Management

  • Advises on Meridian policies governing project data management, retention, and storage, and helps IVLP staff adapt to new processes and protocols.
  • Budgets for and maintains electronic resources and administrative materials.
  • Develops and manages IVLP reporting and project archives in Salesforce.
  • Represents Meridian in discussions with the DoS about International Visitor Resource Center (IVRC) policies and software.

Communications

  • Serves as a resource to the Communications Team to ensure adherence to Department of State media policies.
  • Maintains IVLP-related information on the Meridian website.

Education/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree.
  • At least 2 years of applicable work experience.
  • Experience creating and/or managing databases, preferred.
  • Familiarity with the IVLP or other USG exchanges, welcome.
  • Broad familiarity with other countries and cultures.
  • Or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is necessary for this role
  • Experience with Canvas, Zoom and Salesforce is helpful

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of Meridian’s broader objectives, programs and divisions.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong inter-cultural communication skills; maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world.
