Diplocraft: Sprinting Towards Vaccine Equity

Friday, November 19, 2021

Worldwide distribution of COVID-19 vaccines is posing equity challenges, with the vast majority of vaccine doses being administered in high-income countries. It remains unclear how the world community will attain the WHO targets of vaccinating 40% of world’s population by end of 2021 and 70% by mid-2022. This program will focus on COVID-19 vaccine issues, including the best ways to increase vaccine penetration in the developing world and advance vaccine production capacity. The discussion will also explore the proposal at the WTO to waive intellectual property protections for COVID-19 vaccines and the importance of protecting innovation.

Meridian is honored to be joined virtually by Dr. Scott Gottlieb, Former Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (2017-2019) and Senior Fellow, American Enterprise Institute (AEI). He will provide keynote remarks, laying the foundation for group dialogue and Q&A, which will allow in-person attendees to offer their perspective and share key learnings from their countries own experience with COVID-19 and the steps taken to deploy vaccines.

The session will be off-the-record and closed press.

Event is by invitation only. For more information, please contact Julianne Juarez.
