Summary of Position:

The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is a U.S. Government citizen diplomacy exchange that brings thousands of rising international leaders to the U.S. each year on short-term professional itineraries. For over 60 years, Meridian has partnered with the State Department to implement IVLP exchanges. The IVLP Administration Coordinator supports smooth IVLP operations by carrying out a range of administrative and finance duties under the supervision of the IVLP Operations Manager.

The position is located in Washington D.C. and Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. This position may work partially remotely until further notice. It does require presence in the office on most Fridays.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative duties in support of IVLP operations: Reconcile expense reports and advances; Review exchange participant per diem meal allowances; Administer a prepaid debit card program for exchange participants; Manage invoice payments; Assist with procurement
  • Work closely with multiple project teams and the Finance Division
  • Assist with training entry-level staff
  • Responsible for completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner and meeting all organizational administrative deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree
  • At least 2 years of applicable work experience
  • Experience with USG grants is helpful
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to carry out responsibilities independently while functioning as part of a team
  • Significant experience in the use of Office 365
  • Strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity and professionalism
  • Mature judgment and the ability to set priorities
  • Strong inter-cultural communication skills; maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is necessary for this role
  • Experience with Concur is helpful
