 Summary of Position:

The Associate, Corporate Relations works with the Corporate Relations team to develop and implement all Corporate-related programs and events. The position is also responsible for providing administrative support to the greater Corporate Relations team.

This position is located in Washington D.C. and Meridian requires MD, DC, or VA residence for all employees. The position may work partially remotely until further notice. Effective January 4, 2022, all Meridian staff are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, unless a reasonable medical or religious accommodation is approved.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Research potential speakers, develop outreach strategies and execute programs based on member interest.
  • Draft, send and track programmatic correspondence including speaker invitations, event invitations, confirmation emails and thank you notes.
  • Support day-of management and production of all programs (approx. 30 events annually, primarily in-person with occasional hybrid or virtual) designed by the Corporate Relations team.
  • Maintain program websites with accurate sponsor information; oversee the writing of post event summaries.
  • Assist with communications including writing blog posts, collecting thought leadership pieces from Corporate Council members, and providing content for quarterly newsletters.
  • Update and track all Corporate Relations team events in the internal calendar, Salesforce, and website to ensure that relevant information is available to the appropriate audiences.
  • Regular maintenance/cleaning of donor records in Salesforce including but not limited to: Contact records, opportunities, campaigns, affiliations, and dashboards.
  • Create and distribute relevant Salesforce reports to share updates on RSVPs, budgetary goals, and other information as needed.
  • Process corporate gifts in Salesforce and create weekly financial reports to share with the finance team.
  • Attend donor meetings and take robust notes to adequately summarize the discussion.
  • Research and compile briefing memos for the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice President, and/or other Meridian leadership ahead of prospective donor meetings and select Corporate Council member meetings.
  • Support the Corporate Relations team in achieving their fundraising goals for the Corporate Council, Diplomacy Forum, Meridian Ball and Global Leadership Summit, as well as other fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
  • Responsible for completing all organizational administrative responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Interest in corporate diplomacy a plus.
  • Or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Understanding and interest in non-profit development and fundraising activities.
  • Exceptional writing skills - experience writing a variety of forms of correspondence including solicitation letters, thank you notes and briefings.
  • Familiarity with organizing and staffing events.
  • Excellent phone and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented and proven ability to   prioritize multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong inter-cultural communication skills; maturity, cultural sensitivity, and tact suitable for working with individuals from around the world.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams is necessary for this role.
  • Experience with Adobe, Canva, Concur, Linvio, Salesforce, Zoom and/or Pardot preferred.
