The Glory of Ukraine: Sacred Images from the 11th to the 19th Centuries

Meridian International Center presented an exhibition of icons from the collections of the oldest monastery in Ukraine, the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, the Lviv National Museum, and a selection of ancient artifacts from the Museum of National Cultural Heritage PlaTar. The ancient artifacts cover a broad time frame and include pottery from the 4th millennium BCE, pieces of Scythian gold, and a small cross from the 12th-13th centuries. Most of these objects had never been seen in the United States before. This exhibition was organized by the Foundation for International Arts & Education of Bethesda, Maryland.
