Visiting the National Forest Service's Jemez Restoration project

The "Our Planet: Addressing Regional Effects of Extreme Weather Events" International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) brought together 8 environmentalists in an effort to explore differing models of adaptation and resilience to the impacts of climate change. The itinerary covered a variety of environments facing differing impacts including a case study of flooding impacts in Ellicott City, MD; coastal ecosystems in San Diego, CA; arid and forested areas in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, NM; urban in Kansas City, MO; and coastal sea level rise in Norfolk, VA. In terms of future collaboration, participants engaged with professional peers in Ellicott City, Santa Fe, Kansas City and Norfolk.
