Meridian and ITVS Kick-Off Global Perspectives Film Series

As part of the Global Perspectives Film Series, Meridian International Center and ITVS hosted the screening of Peace Unveiled on October 19, 2011.

The film, which is part of Abigail E. Disney, Pamela Hogan, and Gini Reticker's Women, War & Peace series, takes us behind Kabul’s closed doors as the women's case is made to U.S. Ambassador Karl Eikenberry, U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Melanne Verveer, General David Petraeus and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who promises that ʺpeace and justice can't come at the cost of women and women’s lives.ʺ J Alexander Thier, Assistant to the Administrator and Director, Office of Afghanistan-Pakistan Affairs, USAID, joined moderator Tamara Gould, Vice President, ITVS International for a discussion and audience Q&A to follow the film
