Ms. Strauss is Special Advisor for Socially Responsible Investment Finance at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, a U. S. government corporation charged with mobilizing and facilitating US private investment and skills transfer in developing countries throughout the world. She is responsible for policy matters and origination of innovative financing structures designed specifically to leverage socially responsible investment to achieve sustainable projects in emerging markets. She collaborates with other U.S. government agencies to assist in coordinating public funding to efficiently support projects with SRI or socially responsible segments for the corporation including micro finance and SME businesses. Formerly the Director of Credit Policy for the corporation, and as a former private sector banker, she held various positions in finance and banking. Ms. Strauss has an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a BA from Lake Forest College.
