Joanne Clark joined Meridian as a Program Officer in 1986, after spending 14 years in sales and marketing management in various sectors of the computer industry. She received her BA in French from Manhattanville College and spent one year in Paris after graduation. In 1994, Joanne was awarded a Masters in International Transactions from George Mason University's International Institute. She is a two-time recipient of NCIV’s National Award for Excellence in Programming, in 1993 and again in 2010. Her areas of expertise at Meridian include environmental protection and sustainable development, urban planning, economic development and trade, volunteerism and NGO management. Joanne has lived in Boston, Paris, San Francisco and Minneapolis. Since 1998, she has maintained email communication with hundreds of former international visitors and her international travels are enhanced by visits with many of these former IVLP participants. Joanne speaks French and has traveled in Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean, Tunisia, Turkey, Jordan, Israel, and the West Bank.
