Meridian Announces Property Development Partnership

Meridian International Center is working with Streetscape Westbrook Partners, a local real estate enterprise with a specialty in partnering with not-for-profit institutions and historic properties, to develop a vacant lot on its campus on Meridian Hill. Meridian is developing this property for residential use primarily to provide funding for preservation and maintenance of its two historic properties – the Meridian House and the White-Meyer House. Additionally, this development will provide Meridian 21st century conference and office space to advance its not-for-profit mission. Meridian has been an anchor in the District and the Meridian Hill neighborhood for over a half-century, featuring important events, distinguished global leadership programs, and cultural and community activities. Meridian selected Streetscape specifically because of their solid track record of being sensitive to the landscape and historic properties and urban environments. Previous projects include Symphony Park at the Music Center at Strathmore and work with Washington Adventist Hospital. Streetscape and Meridian will be working with the community, the city and other stakeholders to ensure that the new residential property adjacent to Meridian is a world class addition to the vision of 16th Street, as a grand residential and embassy avenue in our nation’s capital.
