Alana Hayes Ramo graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with a B.A. in International Studies and a concentration in the European Union and a focus on global trade, development and transnational cultures. During college, she studied abroad at the Universidad de Sevilla, Spain, and also worked as an Intern at the International Affairs Council in Raleigh, as an English as a Second Language Tutor at a middle school in Chapel Hill, and as an Office Intern at El Centro Latino. Prior to joining Meridian, Alana worked at the Sustain Foundation of Carrboro, North Carolina, where she acted as Local Operations Director assisting with research and program implementation, locally and abroad, in Tanzania and Uganda. Alana also spent time in Buenos Aires, Argentina where she worked as a Social Media Copywriter for a local hostelling company and as an Intern with Idealist.org. Alana is fluent in Spanish.
