David M. Klaus brings more than a decade of experience in developing programs on political issues and organizing international exchange programs for the U.S. Congress, senior business leaders and NGO officials. Prior to joining Meridian, he established and served as Consulting Director of the Wilson Center on the Hill Program at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and as President and CEO of the Congressional Economic Leadership Institute. He is a veteran of Capitol Hill and the executive branch, having worked as Counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee from 1981 to 1988, and served in the Executive Office of the President during the Carter Administration and the Director of Management and Administration at the U.S. Department of Energy during the Clinton Administration. He also has ten years of experience in private law practice representing clients on legislative, regulatory and legal issues. Mr. Klaus obtained his law degree from Georgetown University Law School and holds a BA in U.S. History from Stanford University. Mr. Klaus is a member of the DC Bar and the American Bar Association.
