Frank Justice Receives NCIV 2011 Excellence in Programming Award

February 19, 2011, Washington, D.C. – Frank Justice, Program Officer for the Meridian International Center, Washington, DC, received the National Council for International Visitors’ (NCIV) Excellence in Programming Award in the National Program Agency category at the NCIV National Meeting’s Citizen Diplomacy Luncheon in Washington, DC on February 19. The Award is presented annually to exemplary members of the network, selected by their peers, to recognize outstanding achievers within the NCIV network who have given tirelessly of their energies and creativity to the success of the International Visitor Leadership Program and to promote international education and exchange.

According to one of his colleagues who nominated him for the award, “Frank is always on top of his programs but also really understanding of everyone’s roles and constraints. I truly enjoyed working with him.”

NCIV’s mission is to promote excellence in citizen diplomacy – the concept that, in a vibrant democracy, the individual has the right, even the responsibility, to help shape U.S. foreign relations. Founded in 1961, NCIV is comprised of more than 90 community organizations throughout the country plus National Program Agencies such as Meridian International Center that serve participants in the U.S. Department of State International Visitor Leadership Program and other exchanges, building person-to-person relationships “one handshake at a time.” Each year more than 80,000 volunteers are involved in NCIV member activities.
