Meridian Selected by State Department to run I-VOTE The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs selected Meridian’s winning proposal to organize and carry out the I-VOTE International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP). “Election Fellows” – emerging leaders aged 30-50 – will visit Washington, D.C., where they will receive an orientation to American culture and insights into the dynamics of the electoral and democratic political processes in the United States during this banner election year. Participants in the program will be fluent English speakers and will travel to the five battleground or swing states: Ohio, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota and Missouri; and on election day, they will travel to 50 cities to observe polling place operations, campaign events, and election night events. Following the election, a “Wrap-Up” in Boston will allow the Fellows to share their travel experiences with colleagues from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. |
