Resources Information Officer

Position Title: Resources Information Officer, Professional Exchanges Division
Location: Washington, D.C.
Reports To: Senior Vice President, Professional Exchanges Division

Purpose and Description

The Resources Information Officer is responsible for serving as the Professional Exchanges Division staff’s main contact for information and research needs, managing electronic and paper information resources, serving as the Division’s internal and external liaison on technology issues, and responding on short notice to special requests. An additional responsibility is to serve as liaison with the Communications team and provide information on PED’s work.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains and develops procedures for up-dating electronic resources including ORDIV, the Wiki, Salesforce, on-line reference materials, sponsor information, and Washington, DC contacts.
  • Maintains library of printed and electronic resources for staff research
  • Serves as liaison to the Communications Division by providing updates and content about PED’s work for Meridian’s blog, website, annual reports, electronic publications and other social media platforms
  • Edits and updates text about IVLP programs and projects on the website
  • Tracks and reports on statistical use of CBMs, home hospitality, volunteer opportunities, and cities and states
  • Maintains electronic archive of visitor programs
  • Trains new staff on the use of electronic resources
  • Develops and administers annual budget for resources and information technology needs
  • Prepares and disseminates monthly, quarterly and annual statistical reports
  • Maintains the supply of up-to-date hand-outs for International Visitors
  • Serves as internal and external liaison on technology issues
  • Works closely with the Department of State, software developers and Global Ties U.S. staff on the development of ORDIV and Community Point to insure that the Division’s needs are met
  • Coordinates office visits of Global Ties U.S and other organizational representatives, and oversees the distribution of meeting notes
  • Researches information on current events and program topics
  • Maintains and acquires equipment such as laptops, projectors, cameras, and tablets
  • Coordinates special projects with staff as needed
  • Develops conference presentation materials and other branded promotional items

Minimum Qualifications

Experience/Education

  • Undergraduate degree in International Relations, Global Studies, or related fields
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the IVLP

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, organize and set priorities
  • Familiarity with computer systems, ORDIV, HTML, and data management
  • Awareness of Meridian’s broader objectives, programs and divisions
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Good inter-personal skills
  • Mature judgment
  • Strong attention to details

This position is classified FLSA non-exempt
