Influencing Washington: The Role of Issue Advocacy in the Nation’s Capital

Description: The Meridian Center for Diplomatic Engagement is gathering a cross-section of 35-45 influential decision-makers and practitioners – from the foreign diplomatic corps, U.S. Government, interest groups and the private sector – to participate in a morning discussion on the practice and importance of lobbying in the U.S. The program will delve into the purpose of and restrictions on lobbying and advocacy, the types of lobbying groups that operate in Washington, and ways that members of the diplomatic corps can work with special interest groups.
