The arts provide a universal language for people of different cultures to communicate with each other.

Meridian brings exhibitions of international art to audiences in Washington, DC, across the nation, and abroad. These exhibits and related programs provide insights into other cultures, demonstrating that art transcends geographic and political boundaries.

Meridian works with museums, embassies, and other institutions to produce, present, and circulate exhibitions of art from around the world. With support from corporations and foundations, Meridian has organized groundbreaking exhibitions from Iran, Israel, Senegal, Singapore, South Africa, Vietnam, and many other nations. Exhibits open at Meridian's galleries in Washington, DC. Our Traveling Exhibition Service then circulates many of them nationwide. We also develop presentations of American art for exhibition abroad.

Meridian's exhibitions reach hundreds of thousands of viewers in Washington, DC, and in communities across the US. To complement and enhance the impact of the exhibits, Meridian presents concerts, cultural outreach programs, and arts education activities. We also encourage other venues to form partnerships with state and local arts councils, schools, libraries, and other organizations.
